Vista, CA: Pedestrian Killed in Fatal Crash on Highway 78
Vista, California (February 20, 2018): Authorities are conducting an ongoing investigation into a fatal crash on Highway 78 in San Diego County early Saturday, February 9, 2018. Information about the incident remains limited while the investigation continues.
The victim has been identified as 48-year-old Tara Norine Johnson. Officials believe she was hit by a vehicle traveling west on Highway 78 around 8:30 p.m., not far from the Emerald Drive Bridge. Johnson was reportedly pronounced dead before being transported to a nearby hospital. The driver of the unidentified vehicle that struck Johnson remained on the scene and is said to be cooperating with authorities. No additional information has been made available at this time.
