Ventura, CA – Man in Wheelchair Struck in Hit-and-Run Accident
Ventura, CA (March 15, 2019) – On Thursday night, March 14th, police say that a 64-year-old man in a wheelchair was struck in a hit-and-run accident at a local intersection.
The accident happened around 10:30 p.m. at the intersection of South Garden Street and West Main Street. At the time, the man had been crossing the street when he was suddenly struck by a vehicle turning left from Garden.
The suspected driver was in a black sedan at the time but fled the scene, leaving the pedestrian lying in the street. When the victim was found, he was conscious and in the crosswalk. He had pain from moderate injuries and was hospitalized.
Police say that the victim’s wheelchair was destroyed in the crash. The victim is expected to recover.
The search for the driver responsible and the investigation into the accident continue at this time.
