Ventura County, CA: Fatal Motorcycle Crash in Oxnard
Ventura County, California (March 6, 2018): Local Ventura County resident, 58-year-old Mark Walpole, of Oxnard, CA, was tragically in a crash while riding his motorcycle early Saturday evening, March 3, 2018. Authorities are conducting an active investigation into the collision and only limited information has been made available while the investigation remains ongoing.
Officials believe the accident happened just after 6:00 p.m. when a southbound Honda, driven by an unidentified 29-year-old Oxnard resident, attempted to make a U-turn at the intersection of Monaco Drive and South Victoria Avenue and collided with Walpole’s 2005 Suzuki GSXR. Walpole was reportedly stuck under the wreckage and was extricated by emergency responders at the scene. He was transported to Ventura County Medical center and was pronounced dead at the hospital. Neither the driver of the Honda nor the two passengers in his vehicle reported sustaining injuries in the crash. No further details have been provided at this time.
