Ventura County, CA: Car Fatally Collides with Semi-Truck in Saticoy
Ventura County, California (March 13, 2018): The California Highway Patrol is conducting an ongoing investigation into a fatal three-vehicle collision on the Highway 118 bridge over the Santa Clara River in Saticoy, CA, late Friday morning, March 9, 2018. The victim has been identified as 73-year-old Ventura resident Anita Montiel, but very few other details have been made available while investigators continue to gather information.
The accident reportedly happened just after 11:00 a.m. when a Chrysler 300 traveling west on Highway 118 rear-ended a westbound semi-truck, causing the semi to veer into the opposite lanes of the highway where it collided with Montiel’s eastbound Volvo S60. Montiel was pronounced dead at the scene. Two occupants of the Chrysler were transported to a hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries sustained in the accident. The semi-truck driver did not report sustaining any injuries in the course of the collision and it is unclear if there were any additional occupants involved in the crash. No additional information has been provided at this time.
