Ventura, CA – Passenger Hospitalized in DUI Crash

Ventura, CA (July 31, 2018) – A passenger suffered injuries in an early morning DUI crash on Monday.  The crash occurred at South Victoria Avenue and Olivas Park in Ventura around 2:25 am.  Ventura police report that the vehicle crashed into a traffic signal at the intersection.

The driver suffered serious injuries as his legs were trapped underneath the vehicle.  Rescue workers arrived on the scene and freed the injured driver.  He is currently in a local trauma center receiving medical treatment.  A passenger in the vehicle also sustained injuries.  The passenger is also in the hospital with unknown injuries.

Following an investigation, Ventura police charged the driver with DUI.  Neither the driver nor the passenger have been identified.  The crash remains under investigation with Ventura police.  No further information is available at this time.
