Van Nuys, CA – Two Men Die After Plane Crash, Fire at Van Nuys Airport
Van Nuys, CA (August 2, 2023) – A small plane crashed and caught fire at Van Nuys Airport on Wednesday morning, killing two men.
Firefighters from the airport’s station responded promptly, dousing the blaze with foam and water to extinguish the flames.
FAA records confirmed that the single-engine plane was a CSA SportCruiser, and Van Nuys airport officers said that the plane’s home base was in California. It was unclear at first whether the incident occurred during takeoff or landing.
According to eyewitnesses, the plane plunged nose-first into the ground, though the reasons for the crash are still unknown.
FAA officials, along with the Van Nuys PD, are investigating.
