Tulare, CA – Tractor Trailer Accident injures Aaron Carpenter on Hwy 99
Tulare, CA (October 17, 2018) – A Tulare man suffered major injuries when he collided with a tractor-trailer on October 16th early in the morning. According to the California Highway Patrol, the tractor-trailer left the scene of the accident.
Local authorities reported that at least one victim has sustained major injuries as a result of the accident involving a tractor-trailer combo vehicle and a 2003 Mitsubishi Gallant. The multi-vehicle collision reportedly transpired around 1:40 am on Tuesday morning. The driver of the 2003 Mitsubishi Gallant has been identified as 30-year-old Aaron Carpenter. According to investigators, Mr. Carpenter was driving northbound on Highway 99 just north of Cartmill Avenue in Tulare when he lost control of his vehicle before overcorrecting to the right and then crashing into the tractor-trailer combo vehicle.
After the initial impact, the Mitsubishi Gallant bounced back to the left, before flipping over and finally coming to a stop on the right side of the center divider. Investigators determined Aaron Carpenter was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the collision. California Highway Patrol states the driver of the tractor-trailer was likely unaware of the collision and left the scene of the accident heading northbound on Highway 99. Police and paramedics were dispatched to the crash site and rendered aid to the victim. Afterward, emergency personnel transported Aaron Carpenter to Kaweah Delta Medical Center to determine the severity of his injuries.
This investigation is still ongoing. No additional information has been released at this time.
