Stanislaus County, CA: Fatal Pedestrian Accident in Modesto
Stanislaus County, California (April 5, 2018): The Modesto Police Department is conducting an active investigation into a fatal pedestrian accident in Modesto, CA, on Sunday, April 1, 2018. The victim has been identified as 34-year-old Vanessa Julian, a local Modesto resident.
Julian was reportedly walking her bicycle across North 9th Street, near Carver road, when she was hit by a vehicle driven by 27-year-old Louis Bowman, also of Modesto, CA. Julian was taken from the scene to a nearby hospital, but she was tragically pronounced dead from her injuries a short while later. Bowman reportedly remained at the scene until officials with the Police Department arrived and is believed to be cooperating with the investigation. Authorities are still gathering information about the collision and no additional details have been released at this time.
