Stanislaus County, CA: Car Catches Fire After Head-on Collision in Modesto
Stanislaus County, California (March 15, 2018): At least one person was seriously injured as a result of a head-on collision in Modesto, CA, yesterday evening, Wednesday, March 14, 2018. Authorities are conducting an active investigation into the incident and only limited details have been made publicly available while the investigation remains open.
Officials believe the accident happened just after 6:30 when a 2001 Chevrolet Impala collided head-on with a minivan on Claribel Road, slightly east of Claus Road. The collision caused one of the vehicles to catch fire and emergency response crews, including firefighters and paramedics, were swiftly dispatched to the scene. While the total number of individuals involved or injured in the accident is unknown, one person was reportedly airlifted to a hospital to be treated for serious injuries. A dog inside one of the vehicles may have also been injured in the crash. No additional information has been provided.
