Stallion Springs, CA – Fatal Bicycle Accident at Kern County Intersection
Stallion Springs, CA (January 30, 2019) – Police reported that 35-year-old Janine Marie Westberg was killed after a hit-and-run accident that took place at an intersection in Stallion Springs. The accident took place on Monday evening at the intersection of Comanche Point and Jacks Hill Road.
At the time, Westberg had been riding her bicycle traveling south on Jacks Hill Road when she entered into the intersection. While there, she was suddenly struck by a Ford F-250 that was heading east. The impact was so forceful that she was flung from her bicycle onto the ground.
Medical teams were called to the scene, where they found that Westberg was lying in the street with serious injuries. Paramedics attempted to save her life but were unable to do so. She was sadly pronounced dead.
The driver of the Ford was not injured. Investigators continue to take a closer look at the accident at this time.
