South Lake Tahoe, CA – Fatal Hit-&-Run Crash on Lake Tahoe Blvd
South Lake Tahoe, CA (October 10, 2019) – An elderly pedestrian was killed during a hit-and-run accident on Lake Tahoe Boulevard on Sunday, October 6th.
The fatal crash took place at about 8:00 p.m. near Fairview Avenue.
Police identified the victim as 78-year-old South Lake Tahoe resident Edwin Harshman.
According to local news sources, Harshman was making his way across Lake Tahoe Boulevard when he was hit by a black sedan.
The collision caused the victim to be thrown onto the sidewalk. Medical crews responded to the accident and they pronounced Harshman dead at the scene.
Police asserted that the driver involved originally fled the scene immediately after hitting Harshman.
The suspect, 20-year-old Marlon Cruz, turned himself at the South Lake Tahoe police station five hours later and told officers he might have been involved in a traffic incident.
