Sonoma Valley, CA – Bicyclist Killed in Crash on SR-12
Sonoma Valley, CA (November 06, 2019) – A 71-year-old man was killed in an auto accident on Highway 12 on Wednesday, November 6th.
An initial investigation showed the man was riding his bicycle westbound on Highway 12 at approximately 9:10 a.m. The victim did not have a helmet on but was wearing what looked to be work clothes and work boots.
As the bike rider neared Madrone Road, he collided with a Ford Mustang that was in the westbound lane. The collision was forceful enough to cause the man to be thrown off his bike and send him flying into the windshield of the Mustang. From there he was tossed into the street.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Mustang, Sparrow Brazil, 74, did not sustain any injuries during the course of the accident.
We would like to offer our deepest condolences to the family of the deceased victim at this time.
Bicycle Accidents in Sonoma Valley
Bicycles are a popular mode of transportation, exercise, and recreation here in California. Unfortunately, bicycles have very little to offer when it comes to a rider’s protection from the dangers that riders often encounter.
This means that bicycle-involved accidents frequently result in catastrophic or critical injuries to bike riders. Sadly, the group that endures the most injuries where bicycle accidents are concerned is young children.
The bicycle accident attorneys at the Los Angeles Injury Group have spent decades assisting victims of California bicycle accidents in recovering the financial losses that they have endured and are entitled to collect according to the law.
