California Hit-and-Run Accidents
We offer our sympathies to the injured party and hope for a speedy recovery as well as a swift resolution to this case.
Hit-and-run accidents are a far more serious matter than most other types of traffic accidents because they absolutely involve criminal charges. It is against the law to leave the scene of an accident for ANY reason. This act of cowardice leaves the injured party alone and defenseless, hoping a good Samaritan will come to their aid. Even if the hit-and-run culprit does come to be identified and face criminal charges, liability still has to be proven if the injured intends on filing any sort of a civil suit. Proving liability can sometimes be tricky and is a fairly technical process. Hiring a capable attorney with an extensive knowledge of the laws can greatly assist you in your attempts to meet at the required legalities of proving that liability. Being able to prove the driver’s liability beyond a shadow of a doubt will be necessary for the insurance companies involved and the courts as well.
