Sierra County, CA – Major Injury Accident on Highway 49

Sierra County, CA (August 8, 2018) – An accident with serious injuries occurred Tuesday evening in Sierra County.  The crash happened on Highway 49, near Calpine.  Just after 8:00 pm, a Mini Cooper and a pickup truck collided with one another.  It is unknown exactly how the collision took place.

Unfortunately, serious injuries were reported in this crash.  Both drivers were transported to nearby hospitals to received medical treatment.   There is no additional word on their conditions at this time and it is not known if the injuries are life-threatening.

The California Highway Patrol along with firefighters and paramedics all assisted at the crash scene.  The drivers involved have not been identified.  Police have not released any further details as an investigation into the accident is currently ongoing.
