Santee, CA (August 12, 2018) – A person was killed in a hit-and-run early Saturday in San Diego. The pedestrian was walking on Prospect Avenue, near Tumbleweed Terrace just after midnight. At that time, the pedestrian was struck by an oncoming vehicle. There is no detailed description of the vehicle. However, it is believed to be black in color. The injured pedestrian was discovered lying in the middle of the roadway. Lifesaving efforts were made but were ultimately unsuccessful, and officials with the Santee Fire Department pronounced the female pedestrian dead at the scene.

Hit and Run Accidents in California
Our thoughts are with the deceased pedestrian’s family in this tragic accident.
All drivers have a duty to stop at the scene of a crash. When the driver knows that a person is injured, there is also a duty to remain on the scene and provide aid to the injured victim. Fleeing the scene of an injury accident is a felony and carries serious criminal and civil liability.
