At this time, police continue to investigate the accident to determine how it happened and who could be liable. Many factors will come into play before damages become apparent, such as recklessness on behalf of the driver. Police will look at aspects like speeding, drunk driving, driving distracted, and more. From there, a determination will be made if the driver is liable and they could easily owe compensation to the pedestrian in this case.
