Santa Clarita, CA – Child Injured in Pedestrian Accident on Golden Valley Road
Santa Clarita, CA (February 5, 2019) – On Monday afternoon, a child was injured in a pedestrian accident that took place when a driver lost control of their vehicle. The accident took place on Golden Valley Road.
The victim was struck by the dark Toyota sedan when it veered onto the sidewalk. The child was taken to the hospital with a variety of injuries but is expected to be okay.
The incident took place near the intersection of Via Princessa around 3 p.m. in the area of the Golden Oak Community School. The child was walking with other children but nobody else was hit and injured. Police say the child was airlifted to the hospital.
The motorist’s vehicle struck the child and then ran into a traffic signal pole. Police are not sure what caused them to lose control of their vehicle.
Police continue to investigate the crash to find out what caused the driver to lose control. They continue to speak with witnesses who might have seen what happened.
