Santa Barbara, CA: Fatal Pedestrian Collision on State Street
Santa Barbara, California (February 26, 2018): A 60-year-old man has died as a result of injuries sustained from being hit by a car in the 500 block of State Street on Saturday evening, February 24, 2018. The victim has been identified as Gilbert William Ramirez.
Ramirez was reportedly struck by a northbound vehicle around 6:30 as he was attempting to walk west across State Street. He was transported to a nearby hospital but died while undergoing treatment.
The Santa Barbara Police Department is investigating the incident and further information has not been made available at this time. The driver of the vehicle involved in the collision remained on the scene and is reported to be cooperating with the investigation.
