San Mateo County, CA: Pedestrian Struck by Vehicle in Pacifica
San Mateo County, California (February 28, 2018): A 21-year-old man was hit by a car on Highway 35 in Pacifica on Friday night, February 23, 2018. The crash is under an active and ongoing investigation by authorities, and only limited information has been made available to the public with the investigation remains open.
Officials believe the collision occurred around 9:00 p.m. when the pedestrian was attempting to cross Highway 35, also known as Skyline Boulevard, in the southern crosswalk. A vehicle attempting to turn onto southbound Highway 35 from westbound King Drive struck the pedestrian for unknown reasons. The driver of the vehicle remained on the scene and is reported to be cooperating with investigators.
Paramedics at the scene transported the pedestrian to a nearby hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash. Reports regarding the severity of the victim’s injuries are conflicting and no further updates on his condition have been provided.
