San Jose, CA – Cyclist Hospitalized After Collision With VTA Train
San Jose, CA (September 20, 2019) – A bicycle rider was taken to a local hospital after he was struck by a Valley Transportation Authority train in San Jose.
The incident took place on Friday, September 20th near the intersection of N. Capitol Avenue and Sierra Road.
Based on a statement given by VTA officials, the bicyclist sustained significant head trauma but was alert and breathing when he was transported.
Train service was temporarily suspended in either direction as police investigated the accident.
