San Joaquin County, CA: Double Fatality Two-Vehicle Crash in Lodi
San Joquin County, California (March 14, 2018): Two people were killed and two others were seriously injured in a fatal two-vehicle collision on Highway 12 in Lodi, CA, yesterday, Tuesday, March 13, 2018. None of the parties involved have been identified and only limited information has been made publicly available while authorities continue their active and ongoing investigation into the incident.
According to reports, a black Nissan Murano SUV traveling west on Highway 12 crossed the double yellow line into the eastbound lanes of the highway in an attempt to pass other westbound traffic. The driver of the SUV, a 27-year-old woman, apparently lost control of the vehicle and collided with a red minivan. The driver of the minivan, an 83-year-old man, reportedly attempted to avoid a collision but was unsuccessful.
Both the driver of the Nissan and a passenger in the minivan, an 83-year-old woman, were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the minivan and a third passenger in that vehicle who may have been pregnant both suffered serious injuries in the collision and were transported to a hospital in Stockton, CA. No updates on their respective conditions have been released and no additional information has been provided at this time.
