San Francisco, CA – Multiple Vehicles Cause Fatal Motorcycle Crash
San Francisco, CA (September 22, 2018) – Yesterday, on September 21, multiple vehicles caused a motorcyclist to slam into another vehicle in a fatal motorcycle crash on the Interstate 80 Freeway.
The accident happened around 10:40 a.m. when a silver motorcycle and a silver sedan collided for reasons that are not yet known. The incident took place near the Treasure Island on-ramp. The impact was so forceful that it forced the motorcycle into the back of a white pickup truck.
It is believed that, when the second vehicle struck the motorcyclist, they were ejected from their vehicle and thrown onto the road, then being struck by several other vehicles.
The victim was rushed to the hospital and unfortunately pronounced dead. At this time, police are not sure if others were injured in the accident.
San Francisco Motorcycle Accident
Motorcycle accidents tend to end in fatalities more often than other accidents on our roadways. This might be due to the fact that motorcyclists have fewer protections on our roadways and happen to be involved in accidents with vehicles that weigh thousands of pounds more than their own vehicle.
