San Francisco, CA: Fatal Multi-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 280
San Francisco, California (March 14, 2018): Authorities are conducting an ongoing investigation into a fatal multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 280 early Monday evening, March 12, 2018. The victim has been identified as 84-year-old Xiu Zhou, but few additional details have been made publicly available while the investigation remains open.
While officials have not provided a description of how the collision happened, officials believe it occurred around 6:00 p.m. in the southbound lanes of I-280, near the Geneva Avenue overpass. Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene and Zhou was transported to Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital to be treated for critical injuries sustained in the collision. She reportedly died while undergoing treatment. The total number of vehicles involved in the collision has not been reported and it remains unclear whether anyone else was injured in the crash. No additional information has been provided at this time.
