San Diego, CA – Two Women Seriously Injured on Highway 163
San Diego, CA (September 19, 2018) – An accident left two women seriously injured on Highway 163 in Miramar. The accident took place on the morning of September 18 around 8:05 a.m.
Police responded to the area of the Highway 52 Interchange to find that a big rig was traveling at high speeds when it suddenly struck the back of a Toyota SUV.
The SUV was then forced into the back of a Hyundai Sonata and two other vehicles traveling on the highway. The SUV then ran off the side of the road and caught on fire.
The driver of the vehicle was identified as a 48-year-old San Diego woman and she was quickly taken to the hospital to be treated for serious injuries. The woman driving the Sonata also received serious injuries and was hospitalized.
The 37-year-old Bell man who was operating the tractor-trailer was treated at the scene with only minor wounds. At this time, police are still investigating.
