San Diego, CA: Vehicle Overturns in Crash on 5 Freeway

San Diego, California (February 28, 2018): Authorities are conducting an investigation into an apparent multi-vehicle crash in the southbound lanes of 5 Freeway late yesterday morning, Tuesday, February 27, 2018. Only limited details have been made publicly available while the investigation remains open and ongoing.

Officials believe that the collision happened just before 11:30 a.m. when a red Lexus and a gray and white Ford Mustang collided in the Southbound lanes of 5 Freeway, near La Jolla Parkway, also known as State Route 52. The collision sent the vehicles to opposite shoulders of the highway and caused the Mustang to overturn. Other motorists were reportedly involved in the crash as well, but the total number of vehicles or individuals is not known. Paramedics were dispatched to the accident scene, but only one person has been confirmed injured at this time. No additional information has been provided at this time.
