Southern California Hit-and-Run Accidents
Pedestrians are often the victim of hit and run crashes. Unfortunately, they are also the most seriously injured.
Many hit and runs occur at night or early in the morning when it is dark outside and there are no witnesses around to report on the crash. A hit and run driver faces criminal charges as well as civil responsibility for causing a crash and leaving the scene.
If a hit and run driver is found, their insurance policy may be responsible for payment of damages suffered by the victim. If the driver is never found, then the victim will have to look for other sources of compensation. When the victim is in a vehicle, the victim’s own insurance policy may take over and pay the claim.
