San Diego, CA – Pedestrian Hospitalized in Hit-and-Run on College Ave
San Diego, CA (September 10, 2023) – San Diego police say a driver fled the scene after injuring a 70-year-old pedestrian at a crosswalk on Sunday night.
At around 7:45 p.m., the victim was crossing College Avenue at Streamview Drive in Redwood Village using the designated crosswalk.
Authorities say he was hit by a black vehicle turning left from Streamview Drive into College Avenue heading south while he was in the crosswalk.
The pedestrian suffered a cerebral hemorrhage, a broken left wrist, and a fractured left thumb, according to SDPD. His current condition is unknown.
The hit-and-run is being treated as a possible crime by the San Diego Police Department’s Traffic Division. An investigation remains active in the interim.
