San Diego, CA – Pedestrian Hospitalized After Accident on College Ave
San Diego, CA (August 28, 2023) – On Saturday, a driver reportedly hit a 36-year-old man who was standing on the side of the road in the Redwood Village area of San Diego, seriously injuring him.
Officer Robert Heims of the San Diego Police Department reported the collision happened at around 4:30 p.m. in the 4200 block of College Avenue.
According to Heims, the pedestrian was hit by a 73-year-old man driving west on University Avenue in a 2007 Nissan Titan who was making a left turn onto College Avenue. The pedestrian was taken to the hospital by paramedics and immediately had surgery for his lacerated liver, Heims added.
Heims said that he did not think alcohol had a role in the accident, though an inquiry into the accident remains ongoing.
We extend our thoughts and best wishes for a full recovery to the injured victim at this time.
