San Diego, CA – One Person Killed, Several Injured in Boat Crash off Imperial Beach

San Diego, California (October 28, 2018) – A man was killed and several others were injured when a fishing boat collided with a yacht on Friday night in San Diego County. The collision transpired at approximately 7:50 pm on October 26th, about 9 miles off the coast of Imperial Beach. At this time, no details concerning the identities of the people involved in the crash have been revealed.

San Diego officials have confirmed, a 332-foot yacht, Attessa IV, collided with a 65-foot Prowler. The man aboard the fishing boat was reportedly airlifted to UC San Diego Medical Center-Hillcrest. Sadly, on Saturday morning the injured victim succumbed to his injuries and died at the hospital. The victim’s identity was not immediately released. Seventeen injured people aboard the yacht were taken to a local San Diego hospital for checkup and treatment. Authorities are still trying to determine the events leading up to the fatal boat collision.
