San Diego, CA: Motorcyclist Injured in Rear-End Collision
San Diego, California (February 22, 2018): A motorcyclist was injured after being struck from behind by a Swift truck at the intersection of Market Street and 113th Street in San Diego on Tuesday night, February 20, 2018. Only limited information is available at this time.
The San Diego Police Department was alerted to the collision just after 9:00 p.m. and officials are still conducting an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident, though they believe the driver of the Swift truck may have fallen asleep at the wheel. The motorcycle was stopped at a red traffic light, and officials could find no skid marks or signs that the truck slowed down before the collision.
The motorcyclist was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of serious injuries that are said to broken bones and traumatic head injury. It is unclear whether the driver of the Swift truck, who remained at the scene to speak with officials, was injured in the crash.
