San Diego, CA: Motorcyclist Dies In Fatal Crash on 15 Freeway
San Diego, California (February 19, 2018): The California Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal multi-vehicle traffic crash on 15 Freeway Friday morning, February 16, 2018, that left one dead. Information about the accident remains limited while the investigation continues.
According to reports, the crash happened around 6:30 a.m., in the southbound lanes of 15 Freeway, just north of Miramar Way. Authorities believe up to five vehicles may have been involved in the crash, but the precise manner in which it occurred is unknown. The deceased victim was found lying in the road when emergency crews arrive. It is believed the deceased was riding a motorcycle and was struck by a semi-truck.
The total number of individuals involved in the crash is unknown and it is unclear whether the drivers or passengers of any of the other vehicles suffered injuries. The highway was shut down for about an hour while official response crews helped clear the area and investigate the scene.
