San Diego, CA (July 30, 2023) – A 68-year-old man was critically injured late on Friday night, July 28, when he was struck by a car in the Clairemont Mesa East area of San Diego.

The incident occurred at about 11:30 p.m., according to the San Diego Police Department, near the 6800 block of Balboa Avenue. Mid-block, a 2005 Dodge Neon driven by a 21-year-old man, struck the victim as he attempted to cross the street.

Per the SDPD, the victim was rushed to the hospital, where he remains in serious but stable condition.
