San Diego, CA – Man Killed in Pedestrian Accident on SR 94 Near 22nd St
San Diego, CA (August 6, 2023) – The California Highway Patrol reports that a man was struck and killed Thursday night while walking along State Route 94.
East of the 22nd Street exit, at around 8:20 p.m., a Cadillac SUV hit a pedestrian in the area.
The 50-year-old male driver of the Cadillac, who CHP says is from San Diego, suffered no apparent injuries in the collision.
Paramedics attempted life-saving measures on the pedestrian, but he was pronounced deceased at the scene.
For over an hour on Thursday night, lanes one through four heading east on SR-94 were blocked as investigators combed the area. The San Diego office of the CHP said that their inquiry into the wreck is still underway.
