San Diego, CA – Man Hospitalized After Motorcycle Crash on Home Ave in Ridgeview
San Diego, CA (August 5, 2023) – On Friday night, a motorcyclist was hurt after an accident occurred in the Ridgeview/Webster area.
The San Diego Police Department reports that at around 10:20 p.m., an accident occurred in the 4500 block of Home Avenue.
A 46-year-old woman was reportedly sitting in her 2011 Hyundai Tucson in the bike lane near the south curb, facing east.
A 46-year-old man was heading east on a 2017 Yamaha motorcyclist at the same time. SDPD claims that the woman then made a U-turn in the bike lane and drove straight into the path of the oncoming motorcyclist.
The rider suffered several fractures and an ankle laceration, according to the police, and was taken to the hospital.
Intoxication by drugs or alcohol does not appear to have played a role in this collision, though the SDPD’s Traffic Section is still looking into the matter.
Our thoughts go out to the injured victim and his loved ones.
