San Bernardino County, CA: Pedestrian Killed in Highland Bus Accident
San Bernardino County, California (March 1, 2018): A local San Bernardino resident, 19-year-old Lyric Monee Franklin, was tragically killed after being struck by a bus in Highland, CA, late yesterday night, Wednesday, February 28, 2018. The San Bernadino County Sheriff’s Department has launched an active investigation into the crash and only limited information has been made available while the investigation remains ongoing.
Officials believe Franklin was trying to cross Ninth Street from the north side to the south side around 10:30 p.m. when she was struck by an oncoming Omnitrans bus. Paramedics from Cal Fire and deputies from the Sheriff’s Department were swiftly dispatched to the accident site on Ninth Street, just east of Newcomb Street, and they reportedly pronounced Franklin dead at the scene. No additional details have been provided at this time. Investigators are asking that anyone with information contact the Highland Police Station.
