San Bernardino County, CA: Fatal Two-Vehicle Crash in Fontana
San Bernardino County, California (February 28, 2018): A local California resident was killed in a fatal motor vehicle crash in Fontana, CA early Monday morning, February 26, 2018. The victim has been identified as 25-year-old Robert Winstead, of Moreno Valley.
Winstead was reportedly driving 2005 gray Acura north on Sierra Avenue when, around 5:00 a.m., his vehicle rear-ended a northbound truck that had stopped at the intersection to turn onto Slover Avenue. The reasons for the collision are not known at this time. The accident remains under an ongoing investigation by authorities.
Winstead was transported from the scene to Kaiser Hospital and was pronounced dead just after 6:30 a.m. that same morning. A female passenger in Winstead’s vehicle did not report sustaining any injuries. Reports do not mention whether the driver of the truck was injured at all. No additional information has been provided.
