San Bernardino, CA – 39-Year-Old Hit and Killed in Pedestrian Accident
San Bernardino, CA (October 8, 2018) – In San Bernardino, a 39-year-old was struck and killed by a vehicle in a fatal pedestrian accident that happened on Saturday, October 6, around 2:15 a.m.
Police responded to the area, which was within the area of the 10 Freeway. The pedestrian has since been identified as Uriel Ramos. The 36-year-old man from Redlands was killed after he got out of his vehicle alongside the roadway.
Apparently, Ramos had been a passenger in a pickup truck that received a flat tire. The truck was blocking the center divider, so he pulled it over to the side and attempted to make repairs by getting out of the vehicle. He was struck by a Honda Civic as it was passing through. Sadly, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Honda veered to the right after striking Ramos, which caused it to collide with a Lexus. The male driver of the Honda received major injuries in the accident while his passenger sustained minor wounds. Their names have not yet been released.
The 33-year-old driver of the pickup truck was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence.
The investigation into the matter continues at this time.
