Riverside County, CA: Two-Vehicle Crash on 91 Freeway in Corona
Riverside County, California (February 21, 2018): At least one person has been hospitalized following a motor vehicle crash on 91 Freeway in Corona, CA, on Monday afternoon, February 19, 2018. The injured victim has been identified as 22-year-old Andrew Button, a local Corona resident.
While authorities have not made any official determination regarding the cause of the crash, it is believed the collision happened just before 4:00 p.m. in the eastbound lanes of 91 Freeway, when Button’s vehicle, a Jeep, was reportedly cut-off by a Nissan Altima, causing the Jeep to overturn and slide off to the right shoulder of the road.
Button was transported to Corona Regional Medical Center to be treated for injuries he sustained during the accident. The driver of the Nissan, a 32-year-old man from Wildomar, CA, who has not been identified by name, is not reported to have suffered any injuries as a result of the crash. Traffic in the area was shut down for nearly three hours while authorities performed a preliminary investigation and worked to clear the scene.
