Riverside County, CA: Pedestrian Collision in Palm Springs
Riverside County, California (March 9, 2018): A pedestrian was reportedly injured in a collision with a smart car at an intersection in Palm Springs, CA, last Friday evening, March 2, 2018. The victim has not been identified and information about the incident remains extremely limited at this time.
While authorities have not yet reached an official determination of what caused the accident and have been unable to provide a detailed description of what transpired, officials believe the accident happened just after 6:30 p.m. at the intersection of West San Rafael Drive and McCarthy Road. The driver of the smart car, Ray Capusgoti, failed to see the pedestrian prior to the collision and was unable to explain what happened, though it is believed that the pedestrian was either walking or skateboarding just prior to the crash. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of injuries that are said to be minor in severity. No additional information has been released.
