Riverside County, CA: Fatal Two-Vehicle Crash on 15 Freeway

Riverside County, California (February 23, 2018): The California Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal two-vehicle crash on 15 Freeway in Lake Elsinore, CA on Wednesday morning, February 21, 2018. None of the individuals involved in the collision have been identified and information about the accident remains limited at this time.

Official believe the collision occurred just before 10:00 a.m. when a white sedan hit the back of a red semi-truck that had stopped on the right shoulder of southbound 15 Freeway, near Highway 74. The collision caused the white sedan to slide under the semi-truck.

All lanes of the highway were shut down for a period of time to enable authorities to conduct a preliminary, on-site investigation of the scene. The total number of people involved or injured in this collision has not been provided, but the crash has reportedly resulted in at least one fatality.
