Porter Ranch, CA – Pool Cleaning Truck Involved in Car Accident
Porter Ranch, CA (November 26, 2018) – Shortly before 8:00 this morning there was an auto accident between a passenger vehicle and a commercial truck carrying several gallons of swimming pool cleaning chemicals at 10800 North Tampa Avenue.
According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, approximately four gallons of muriatic acid and 15 gallons of chlorine were spilled onto the roadway and off-gassing after the accident. One of the drivers, a 50-year-old man, received medical transport to a nearby hospital where he received treatment for moderate injuries. According to reports, his injuries were in no way related to the chemicals that were spilled.
The Los Angeles Fire Department’s HazMat team arrived on the scene quickly to neutralize the chemical spill. The investigation into the cause of this accident remains open.
