Placerville, CA – Fatal Pedestrian Accident on Highway 50
Placerville, CA (March 1, 2019) – Police responded to a fatal pedestrian accident that took place on Highway 50, near Ponderosa Road, and took the life of 33-year-old Michael Tinonga.
Police responded to the crash around 9:30 p.m. last night, February 28. The man walked in the middle of the offramp of the highway, where he was suddenly struck down by two vehicles. Authorities spoke with the drivers, who claimed that they were unable to stop when they saw Tinonga on the road.
According to police, Tinonga was pronounced dead at the scene.
The drivers who struck the victim, in order, were identified as 61-year-old William Creamer and 63-year-old Richard Lopes. At the time, the road conditions were dark.
The collision is still being investigated at this time.
