Phelan, CA – Head-on Collision Causes One Fatality, Multiple Injuries
Phelan, CA (September 2, 2018) – A head-on collision took place along Phelan Road that left one person dead and others with varying injuries. Police investigated the scene on Saturday afternoon around 12:34 p.m.
The California Highway Patrol claimed that two vehicles were involved in the incident. At the time, a Chevy pickup truck was headed west at the same time as a Mercedes. The pickup and Mercedes collided head-on for no known reasons around the area of Mango Street. Both vehicles sustained major damages.
The female driver in the pickup truck was pronounced dead at the scene. The male passenger in the pickup truck suffered minor injuries and four others in the Mercedes were taken to the hospital or treated at the scene with significant injuries.
No names have yet been released.

Authorities are investigating and will determine who caused the head-on collision. Sometimes, these accidents take place due to distracted driving, drivers who travel under the influence, speeding, and more. If it is determined that another party caused the fatal injuries, the surviving family will be able to bring a wrongful death claim. The other parties might be able to recover from their injuries.
