Paramount, CA – Four Injured in Three-Car Collision at Alondra Blvd & Garfield Ave

Paramount, CA (August 8, 2023) – Early on Tuesday, August 8, three vehicles collided, injuring at least four persons, one of whom needed to be extricated by firemen.

At around 12:15 a.m., multiple drivers collided near the junction of East Alondra Boulevard and South Garfield Avenue in Paramount, prompting a response from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Lakewood Station and the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

Upon arrival, officials discovered one adult male who was unconscious and stuck inside a red, older-model vehicle. Firefighters used the Jaws of Life to force open a door and rescue the victim. A source with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department confirmed that he was taken to a local hospital with what seemed to be life-threatening injuries.

Another man, who was traveling inside a white Jeep that collided with the red sedan, was transferred to the hospital with serious injuries but was alert and talking to paramedics.

The driver and passenger of a third car, a black sedan, were evaluated for minor injuries.

Officers are still working to determine the cause of the crash and did not provide further details.
