Palm Springs, CA – One Killed, One Injured in DUI Accident
Palm Springs, CA (October 16, 2018) – Police say that one person was killed and another was seriously injured in a DUI accident that took place on the Interstate 10 Freeway early Monday, October 15. The accident took place around 3:55 a.m.
Police say that 33-year-old Juan Franco was driving his Toyota Corolla at the time and approaching near Highway 62. His vehicle rolled over several times when he was involved in an accident and came to rest about 25 feet off the east side of the road.
A female passenger, whose name has not been released, was ejected due to the accident. That woman suffered fatal trauma and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities said that the driver was taken to the Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs with life-threatening injuries.
Franco was exhibiting signs of alcohol intoxicated. He was arrested following the accident.
The accident investigation is ongoing at this time.
