Oxnard, CA – Car Accident Leaves One Deceased, One Critically Injured
Oxnard, CA (November 16, 2018) – An automobile accident in the area of Rice Avenue and Camino Del Sol resulted in one death and one serious injury on Wednesday.
Arnold Fontaine was headed south on Rice Avenue while a truck was approaching from the opposite direction. Not noticing the truck coming down the road, Fontaine attempted to make a lefthand turn across traffic and onto Camino Del Sol but ended up colliding with the pick-up truck in the middle of the road. Arnold Francis Fontaine, 74, and Shirley Yvonne Fontaine, 58, were both transported to Ventura County Medical Center immediately after the crash. Mr. Fontaine was treated for his injuries and listed in stable condition. Mrs. Fontaine was pronounced dead a short while later.
The occupants of the other vehicle were unharmed and remained at the scene of the accident to cooperate with police.
