Orinda, CA – Serious DUI Crash Leads to Injuries in Two Individuals
Orinda, CA (August 22, 2018) – A serious DUI crash took place in Orinda that led to injuries in two people. One person was injured seriously in the incident along Bear Creek Road on Sunday.
Police say the accident took place around 3:22 p.m. near San Pablo Dam Road when a 33-year-old Martinez man was driving his black BMW. He suddenly ran into a Toyota Prius on the roadway.
The occupant in the Prius sustained minor injuries while a 30-year-old female passenger in the BMW sustained serious injuries and was quickly rushed to the hospital.
The names and conditions of the victims were not released. The 33-year-old driving the BMW also sustained minor injuries.
Police say that they believe the accident happened when the driver of the BMW was racing a separate vehicle at high speeds. They said that he might have also been drunk at the time and they continue to investigate at this time.
