Orange County, CA: Injuries Reported in Chain Reaction Truck Crash
Orange County, California (February 16, 2018): Multiple people reported injuries following a multi-vehicle chain reaction crash on Flower Street in Santa Ana Tuesday, February 13, 2018. Authorities are conducting an ongoing investigation into the collision and details are extremely limited at this time.
While there has not yet been an official determination on the cause of the crash, it is believed that the accident occurred when the driver of a flatbed truck fell asleep at the wheel, veering into the opposing lanes and striking several other vehicles including a minivan, a Kia Soul, a gold Nissan Quest, and a tan sedan.
The exact number of persons affected by the accident remains unknown. Emergency responders, including paramedics and firefighters, we dispatched to the scene to help victims. A seven-year-old child was reportedly among the four to six victims that sustained injuries. No further information about the medical condition of those victims or the severity of the injuries they sustained has been provided.
