Orange County, CA: Fatal Two-Vehicle Crash Causes Car Fire on Pacific Coast Highway
Orange County, California (March 30, 2018): The Huntington Beach Police Department is conducting an active investigation into a fatal two-vehicle collision on Pacific Coast Highway in Huntington Beach, CA, early yesterday morning, Thursday, March 29, 2018. The motorists have not yet been identified and only limited information has been made publicly available while the investigation remains ongoing.
Officials believe the accident happened just after 1:00 a.m. when a white sedan rear-ended a red vehicle in the northbound lanes of Pacific Coast Highway. The red vehicle reportedly caught on fire as a result of the collision, and the driver inside the vehicle was pronounced dead from fatal injuries. The driver of the white sedan has reportedly been arrested on suspicion of DUI. While it is unclear if the driver of the sedan was injured, a third person, presumably an occupant in one of the vehicles, is believed to have sustained unspecified injuries, though no further details were given.
