Oceanside, CA – Three Women Killed in Fatal Accident Involving Drunk Driver
Oceanside, CA (February 6, 2019) – Police reported that three women, who have since been identified, have lost their lives in a tragic and fatal accident involving a drunk driver. The women were identified as 56-year-old Eloina Arango, 40-year-old Petra Arango, and 74-year-old Rufina Rodriguez. The accident took place yesterday.
Police responded to the accident around 12:50 p.m. in the afternoon to find that 19-year-old Mason Fish had been driving a pickup truck when he suddenly collided with a vehicle with the three women inside it. There were three others in their vehicle as well who sustained a variety of different injuries. The accident took place at the intersection of South Coast Highway and Oceanside Boulevard.
Fish had been behind the wheel of a Tacoma pickup truck driving southbound when he allegedly ran through a red light and crashed into the Mazda 6 with the women and other passengers inside.
Petra Arango and a teenage girl were ejected through the rear window of the vehicle upon forceful impact. Aggressive life-saving measures were taken but, unfortunately, Arango died at the hospital. The other two women who lost their lives had been in the backseat.
Multiple people were transported to the hospital with a variety of injuries. Fish was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
